Billie Flynn has today shared debut single “Hey Stranger”. Flynn is a recent signing to Gabrielle Aplin’s Never Fade Records, originating on the Cornish where she recorded the new single as well as her upcoming debut EP in her home studio in Cornwall alongside producer JMAC.
Just like the flowing coastlines of the south, Flynn’s voice has a transportive nature that sweeps you up and carries you away on its flowing melodies. The sparseness of the track only allows each element to become grander. Just like the ocean the emotion in this track becomes deeper the further you dive in.
Of the track, Flynn says: “This song came to me in a dream, I dreamt the melody and woke up frantically trying to find my phone to record a voice note, I still have it. It’s about seeing someone again that isn’t in your life anymore and hoping that they’re proud of who you are now.”
