New Music Friday! – 29/5/20

Medhane – Cold Water

Medhane is back with yet another project after only releasing his debut album ‘Own Pace’ in November. Which was then quickly followed in February by ‘Full Circle’. With it’s sparse low-key beats and Brooklyn growl it’s sure to live up to the previous releases.

Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist – Alfredo

A surprise announcement from Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist which sees them team up again after 2018’s ‘Fetti’ in which they joined forces with Curren$y. Also includes features from Tyler, the Creator, Rick Ross, Benny the Butcher, and Conway the Machine.

Aldous RH – Respect 4 Devotion

Adana born Manchester raised Al Robinson releases his debut album of bittersweet funk. A former touring musician with Los Angeles psych-pop outfit Drugdealer, starlet Charlotte Gainsbourg and New Zealand’s iconic Connan Mockasin, RH remains a prolific and determined figure in Manchester’s musical scene.

Pins – Hot Slick

Bold post-punk, female trio, Pins release their third full-length LP Hot Slick, via their own Haus of Pins label. The vibrant album is filled with neon synths, loud guitars, and cheeky melodies that mirror the group’s new boldly-hued imagery and create the sound of a girl gang refreshed and amplified. – Words from Rough Trade

Baths – Pop Music/ False B-Sides II

The follow up to Pop Music/ False B- Sides I, released back in 2011. Critcally acclaimed electronic artist and producer Baths returns with another mix of weird outliers, misfit slappers and shimmering fugues that have nowhere to go.

Joyce Manor – Songs From Northern Torrance

The 10-track compilation is a collection of early material that offers a glimpse into the band’s humble beginnings as an acoustic two-piece.
